Supernatural Underground: Fans Unite to Promote Favorite Show
Do you love Supernatural? Do you lie awake at night wondering what will become of your beloved Dean? Do you make sure you have your snacks ready, and your bathroom break taken care of, during the last commercial break for Smallville? Does your Tivo regularly troll the listings for Jensen and Jared appearances on late-night talk shows?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, Supernatural Underground is looking for you!
Supernatural Underground is a grassroots effort, begun in 2007, to promote the television series Supernatural. This is quite an effort, too. Genre television has long garnered supportive fans, and many Supernatural fans have joined their ranks to let other potential fans know about their favorite underappreciated television series.
Right now, they are looking for artists to design a new flyer. In fact, they already have several flyers that you can print and distribute. They also have a shop on Cafepress, where you can purchase t-shirts, and other items to show your support for Supernatural.
On their website, you can grab banners to support the cause on your own website. There is also information on joining Supernatural Underground.
If you do love Supernatural, this would be a great place to help the show. Krysta and I have been fans of more than a few shows that were always noted as “the best TV show you’re not watching” –Gilmore Girls, Wonderfalls, Roswell, Tru Calling, Veronica Mars, to name a few. Some met untimely deaths after a few episodes (three for Wonderfalls). Others were saved at least once by write-in campaigns, such as the great “Silver Handprint” campaign for Roswell, which worked the first time, at least. If the time comes that the hammer is drawn, a group like Supernatural Underground could be instrumental in keeping the show on, and it might never come, if The CW is at all moved by this sort of fanbase mobilization.
