Supernatural Discussion: 3.14 Long-Distance Caller
This was a great episode, again. Let’s hear a little what you thought of it. Be sure to leave comments, at the end.
- Did you prefer this episode to last week’s Ghostfacers?
- Were you surprised how much this felt like a standalone episode?
- Are you disappointed in how close they’re not getting to fixing Dean’s problem, at least up to this episode?
- Did we learn anything that will help the boys defeat the demon?
- What’s up with demons at the phone company, eh?
- With only a couple more episodes left, and so little of Lilith, so far, are we headed for a cliff hanger?
Be sure to comment on this episode. What did you think?

While a good episode all around, I didn’t feel that this particular installment helped to further the story line. In a world where the writers’ strike has caused us to lose 6 entire episodes I would think that Kripke, et al, would want to squeeze in as much angst, forward movement, resolution or at the very least, anticipation.
This episode fell short on all the above.
The Crocotta is relying on the technology of this era to steal souls to satisfy his hunger. If this was some sort of statement on the maladies of the modern world and how “connected” we are at all times with cell phones, computers, PDA’s etc., well, it was a bit heavy handed and unnecessary.
We got a few brotherly moments, bickering and the admission from Dean that he is scared, but we pretty much already knew this. It was a nice ending however, two brothers, sharing a “moment” in a stinky old motel room with some beers.
I think I’m not alone in saying that we, Supernatural fans, have come to expect more…especially when time is fleeting and there are but two new episodes left. This just felt like a filler episode…prolonging the inevitable without enhancing anticipation or even alluding to a Season 3 cliffhanger.

I agried that with only tow episoades left on this season they could had focaced more on Dean’s deel and on lilith, I would liked better. I didn’t liked the Crocotta, it was that good, specialy after the writers strike they should keep it more interesting.
