Dean’s Fate on Supernatural Finale “No Rest for the Wicked”
This week, we come to the long-anticipated end of Dean’s contract. The spoilers and trailers lead us to believe that Dean really does die. They don’t, however, reveal whether he stays dead for any period of time. Of course, those trailer scenes are usually misleading.
I, for one, think about these things a lot. I also drink –as many writers do- a bit too much coffee and soda. So, let’s take a little walk down the “What’s going to happen” lane.
If only Sam could make the same deal that Dean did. They could just leap frog, year after year. You save my life, this year. I’ll save yours, next year. Of course, since Lilith is in control of such things, that’s too much to ask for. It is, though, a scenario that would seem plausible. I would think, though, that the prize in Dean’s deal, as in all crossroads deals, is owning the deal maker’s life. The deal is always better for the crossroads demon than for the person asking. At this point, she has Dean. His life is a done deal. Consider this, though. If Sam makes the same deal, she would get Sam, as well. Maybe she would go for that. Then, the boys would have another year to figure out how to take her down.
What happens to Dean, Lilith, and the Contract
Consider, if you will, a few possibilities, including some that come from too much caffeine:
- Dean doesn’t really die. The open-eyed, lifeless look from the trailer is Sam’s dream or something.
- Dean dies. We pick up the story in episode 4.01. Oh, man!
- Dean dies. Willow Rosenberg (from Buffy, of course) brings him back. This time, biker demons don’t interrupt.
- Dean dies. Sam brings him back somehow.
- They kill Lilith, and go to Disneyland. Disneyland, though, looks “practically Canadian”.
- Sam disguises himself, and wins the Colt back by tricking Lilith into a round of three card monte.
Wait we must, but let the conjecture fly, until Thursday. What do you think will happen, this week?

Haaa
I so liked your ideas. Disneyland is ofc the best (Y). (So is the one with the card game.)
And I do hope that those trailers are only to misguide us cause if they are gonna kill Dean and leave it open till forth season I’m just gonna die
PS! This is one of the blogs I actually take time to read, it’s great. Keep up the good work.
I DON^T KNOW……!!!!!!!! But i can^t waith to see if Dean die or not…. Oh god i hope no.., anyway we wiil have our Dean/Jensen in the nex season some how…. Or good byyyye Supernatural!!!!
I think Dean dies, then Lilith brings him back ’cause she isn’t in hell anymore and wants to use him as her boy-toy. *grin*
oh paleeze if Sam dies instead of Dean that wouldn’t be as comferting that would be like saying oh Sam’s dead again and dean’s alive which is crazy
I don’t belive that Dean it’s not gonna die. Because if they kill dean they will kill the supernatural.
But we probably won’t know what repends for sure until next season.
I think he dies, that im 99% sure of. He is gonna put up a hell of a fight though (no pun intended). But lets face it, he and Sam cant win, Lillith holds all the cards, including the Colt.
So, i think they are really gonna torture us this time, like they did in the season 1 finale, keep the suspense running until season 4 and drives us absolutely mad since they missed their opportunity to do that with Sam in season 2.
And then Sam finds a way to bring him back. Possibly with the help of Bobby. I have no clue how though, we will wait and see.
What if Sam trades his life for Dean’s life? Lilith wants Sam, anyway. What if she’s been using Dean as bait all this time, neither boy knowing it? Everyone knows Dean is Sam’s weakness.
kerpkie wouldn’t do that and dean wouldn’t let sam do it either we’lll find out in a few hours
That’s too funny! I was thinking the same exact thing about the leap frog theory!! Haha!! I’m so confused about this finale though… I don’t understand how Sam stopped her powers, and what’s up with Dean? Did he get sent to Hell? Because it didn’t look like it — it looked like he was trapped between earth and Hell. I’m lost.
