Eric Kripke Tells More “Dean in Hell” Scoop to TV Guide

Supernatural creator, and all around cool guy, Eric Kripke, spoke to TV Guide, and appears in this week’s issue of the magazine. He talks a lot about setting up Supernatural fandom’s Summer of Angst, and a little on what his plans are for Dean’s new direction.

He confirms a lot of rumors and fills in a lot of spoilage for the curious:

  • Dean will stay in Hell for six months, in human time. In Hell time, it could amount to years.
  • Dean needed to go to Hell. He needed a “turning point”.
  • What happens in Hell, and how Dean gets out, are primary arcs in Season 4.
  • Once Dean is out, he’ll have to adjust to the world that was forced to move on without him.
  • Is Dean a demon? No. As many suspected because of Ruby’s revelations, having your humanity burn away requires centuries in Hell.
  • Dean won’t remember much about his ordeal in Hell.
  • Ruby will return. [I admit it. I like Ruby. I want to see her help them kick butt again.]
  • A new species will appear. YUM!
  • We’ll see more of Rufus Turner, Bobby’s friend in Vermont, from Time is on My Side, who gave Dean the information on Bela.
  • I suspect, from Kripke’s revelations that we’ll see quite a bit of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, when Dean returns. He’ll have lots of issues rebuilding his life, after being in Hell for a considerable length of (Hell) time.
  • Sam may have promised Dean that he wouldn’t try to discover his special powers, but I believe we’ll see some of it come out. Kripke only hints vaguely, but how else are they going to take down Lilith?

Okay. How excited are you to see Dean return, and find out what’s up with Sam and his “power”? Leave a comment and let us hear what you think about Season 4.

Eric Kripke is doing alot of talking….maybe too much since he put his foot in his mouth again…telling Jensen (short bus ) fans that Ackles wasn’t coming back…and that he would be replaced by another good friend of Jared Padalecki…Chad Michael Murray. Seeing how Jensen Akles bright green eye’s light up when he talks about Supernatural…it’s crystal clear that Jensen would be back for a season 4. Big downer though that Ruby ….AKA CAN’T act KC…is coming back. Damn….just when we fans were celebrating Bela’s departure to hell/ aka Lauren Cohan.

Maybe we will get lucky and Ruby will be offed by eppisode 12. Lets all cross our fingers…jared too but with a bottle of ketchup in his hands.

I like the concept of Ruby, but the fact is, KC doesn’t really have that chemistry with the boys, even Lauren had more, it didn’t seem forced. However, I’m just anxiously awaiting the season opener, like everyone else. It’s already been a long summer!

Oz & Nic, Ruby will be back but not necessarily KC, I think the demon ran that body pretty hard and the body ain’t surviving. (Hope):O)

Tik, I tried to post an explanation to your query on another area of the site weeks ago but I guess it was a little too close to the truth b/c the post was denied…sorry :O(

@ thinkas: You know :D we just had a topic about something like that in our Estonian forum, and I’ll make quick overview of it — we were being curious about how the hell Sam is gonna preserve his bothers Body long enough to figure out how to get Dean back in it and heal it. Is he just gonna stuff it in some giant freezer? Or is he gonna find some supernatural way to keep it intact? Or is he just gonna burn it — but in that case the whole resurrection is going to be a b**ch cause they would have to somehow get Dean a whole new body (and if we want to keep Jensen, it should be identical to the old one).
    Jup — it’s a mess :)
