Supernatural’s supervising producer and writer, Sera Gamble spoke, recently, with Karen Rollins of BBC News. Rollins brought a unique perspective to the interview, and brought out a few details that we don’t usually hear about in Sera Gamble, or other writer, discussions.

There’s a reason she’s one of my favorite interviewees. As an example, to differentiate Supernatural from other television paranormal fare, Gamble notes, “when our characters find a ghost, they don’t talk to it - they shoot it in the face.”

She touches on one of the reasons that Supernatural is shot in Vancouver. The damp, rainy darkness gives the show a “late 70s/early 80s ‘B’ horror movie” feeling. That is one of the shows selling points.

Of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, she points out that they’re as “sweet [as] handsome.” The best point, though, is that, “The show really started when they were cast.” Indeed it was.

Of course, she hits upon the point of the show, “The boys jump in the car which has a trunk full of weapons and fight evil.” Yes, they do. It doesn’t hurt that they’re really cute; or is it one is cute and one is really cute?
