When Eric Kripke appeared with Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki at Comic-Con, fans sat on the edges of their seats. Kripke, though, was his usual cryptic self, leaking more teasers than wholesome spoilers for Season Four.

One nice touch for X-Files fans, Mitch Pileggi will show up as Mary Winchester’s father. Of course, it would be an interesting coincidence if Sam and Dean showed up to a mystery and meet Mulder and Scully. In a universe that holds both duos, it would almost need to happen, and they would be a lot more helpful than Bela ever was.

Kripke and the boys did open up a bit more about Season 4, though, at the press roundtable.

Diehard fans know that must, and will, come back. In fact, the title of the season premiere, Lazarus Rising, makes an early return for Dean less than mysterious. Mystery, however, is what Eric Kripke has in mind for Season Four. Although Dean comes back early, the mechanics and the players involved in how and why it happened will remain to unravel over time.

Along the many other mysteries, only over time will we discover any details of Dean’s fate in the underworld. One thing Kripke has alluded to, like in other mythologies (Buffy, for instance) time in Hell moves much faster than time here. Four months in our time may have been like years for poor brother Dean.

According to Kripke, after an awkward Season Three, Kripke says he’s ready to turn up the heat, going into the best years for Supernatural. At this point, the show’s abundant supply of loyal fans are in for quite a ride. Both main characters have hit bottom. Dean has literally been to Hell and back. We don’t know, for sure, how or why he was brought back. His time there has surely left him quite a mess, and he’s going to fit into the destiny that, previously, only included Sam. His quick, shoot from the hip, personality, however, will still be there.

Up till now, Sam’s special powers and dark side have only given us passing glances. Now, Jared Padalecki is excited to see the show explore these elements of Sam in Season 4.

Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are up for Coolest TV Star, in a poll up at TVGuide.com. Interestingly, Jensen, Jared, and Smallville’s Tom Welling are the only boys in the poll. The other big stars in the running include the likes of Miley Cyrus, so watch out!

Supernatural has won Best Overall 2007 Science Fiction Film or Television Script in the Canadian Constellation Awards. The Constellations, Canada’s Fan Awards for Excellence in Science Fiction Television and Film, had also nominated Supernatural in the categories:

• Best Male Performance in a 2007 Science Fiction Television Episode – Jared Padalecki.
• Best Male Performance in a 2007 Science Fiction Television Episode – Jensen Ackles.
• Best Science Fiction Television Series of 2007.
• Outstanding Canadian Contribution to Science Fiction Film or Television in 2007.

Who could argue that Supernatural, Jensen Ackles, and Jared Padalecki aren’t all those things, as well?

The other day, Creation Entertainment announced that Gabriel Tigerman (Supernatural’s Andrew Gallagher, Journeyman’s Jessie), and Samantha Smith (Supernatural’s Mary Winchester, Transformers’ Sarah Lennox, The Chosen One’s Christine) will appear at Salute to Supernatural Chicago, this November.

Of course, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki will appear at Salute to Supernatural on Sunday. Perhaps Jensen will sing again with Jason Manns, who appears in concert at the convention.

Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) has signed on as a special guest at next year’s Salute to Supernatural Los Angeles 2009 set for the last weekend of March. The returning Creation Entertainment convention has already proven to be an incredible event for fans, thanks to its intimate setting with the stars of the show.

2008’s convention included Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Frederic Lane, Chad Lindberg, Steve Carlos, Jason Manns, and creator Eric Kripke.

So far, only Jensen Ackles appears on the list for L.A. 2009, but it’s still early. Creation Entertainment has done a consistently great job, and attracts a great combination of Supernatural actors to all of its events. So, I expect to report the appearance of more hunter-, demon-, and other monster-playing actors from the show. I hope to report that Jared Padalecki will show up on that list.

Jensen Ackles, our own Dean Winchester who is currently “sitting” in Hell, stars in the upcoming movie My Bloody Valentine 3-D. The film, a remake of the 1981 film, is currently filming outside Pittsburgh, PA.

My Bloody Valentine

The new version of My Bloody Valentine stars Jensen Ackles as Tom Hanninger, a coal miner whose inexperience leads to an accident that kills five men. Harry Warden, in a coma for a year after the accident, awakes on Valentine’s Day and goes on a killing spree, then kills himself.

Ten years after Harry’s death, Tom returns to the town. Instead of a warm welcome, he finds that everyone except Sarah, his old girlfriend, believes he’s responsible for Harry’s 22 murders.

Harmony vs. New Harmony

Interestingly, the town in the movie is Harmony. Although no state is mentioned, it’s reasonable to assume that it’s in Pennsylvania. There is, in fact a Harmony, PA. The town was created by the religious sect, The Harmony Society, in 1804. Ten years later, they sold the town to a group of Mennonites. They then created a new town in Indiana, which they named Harmony. This Harmony later changed its name to New Harmony.

In Supernatural episode No Rest for the Wicked, Sam and Dean head the Impala toward New Harmony, Indiana. There, the Winchesters find Lilith, the boys’ newest archnemesis who holds the contract on Dean’s soul.

My Bloody Valentine 3-D is due out in January 2009, just in time, of course, for Valentine’s Day. Nice touch.

I’m very excited that Ten Inch Hero is finally being distributed and shown in the following countries: Sweden, Norway, Finland, The Netherlands, Denmark, Turkey, Luxembourg, Lichtenstein, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, and Belgium.

Those fine folks at Ten Inch Hero have toiled away for a long time, and it’s nice to see that work paying off with real distribution. Now, if we can get this film distributed in the United States, Canada, Ireland, and the U.K., I’d be far more excited.
