During a heavy rainstorm in Ohio, a man –Ben- takes a drink in his home. The phone rings. He answers, and a woman begs him to come to her. He mentions his wife, then refuses, begging her to leave him alone. She keeps calling back, even after he picks up the receiver, and tears the phone up. When the disconnected phone keeps ringing, he takes a revolver out of a drawer and shoots himself through the base of his jaw and through his head.

Episode 3.14: Long-Distance Caller

After the light-hearted Ghostfacers, Supernatural returns to form with an episode about a Crocotta.

Sam and Dean go to a town to hunt a Crocotta, who lures people into killing themselves, by posing as dead loved ones on the phone or computer.
Once they off themselves, the Crocotta takes their souls.
Dean learns something about the demon with the contract for his soul. The source is a special, and seemingly unlikely, surprise.
Dean mistakenly goes after an innocent victim.
