The Entertainment Channel will be supporting The Actor’s Fund, a charity that helps professionals in performing arts & entertainment when they are in need. You can read about the Business Channel Blog Off plans here.

The Great b5media Blog-Off will begin on June 20th at 12:01am (in each writer’s respective time zone), to celebrate the summer solstice, which hasn’t occurred on any date other than June 21st since 1975 – this year it lands on June 20th. Writers from the b5media Entertainment channel will be posting fresh news at least once per hour for a full 24 hours.

How can you help?

You can support this great charity writing marathon in two ways: donate a post, or donate money.

1. Donate a Post - be a guest writer on any of the participating Entertainment sites. You can contribute an article to help meet the once-per-hour 24 article goal for the day.* A list of participating sites is below, as well as contact information.
2. Donate Money – you can help make a difference by supporting The Actor’s Fund. One-time donations in any amount are encouraged in any amount, but we’re also suggesting a pledge of $1 per post written on the Entertainment Channel or $10 to sponsor a participating blog. You can securely donate money here.

For three seasons (okay, two-and-a-half) on Supernatural, Sam and Dean Winchester have chased after demons, ghosts, monsters, embodied figments of our collective imagination, and urban legends of all sorts. The boys, with help from creator Eric Kripke, and a small band of crafty, smart writers, have taken numerous campfire stories and legends known across the globe, brought them to life, and even made them seem possible.

Here’s where you come in. We all have local legends about that scary stretch of graffiti-laden culvert that runs through the woods, the house at the end of the road, or the abandoned filling station that time forgot after the interstate, a mile away, stole its glory. Write a short essay, story, or blurb; or make a short video; and tell us why you think Sam and Dean should investigate your town. What story does your town have? Whose ghost haunts a building in your town? What place, in your town, gives you the willies? Be creative. Use a legend popular in your town, a dream you once had, or just come up with a good story about a cool, or scary, spot in your town. Send photos, drawings, or other original art, if you have any.

Email your story, and any related art, to jonathan.ramsey@b5media.com, or leave them in a comment at the end of this post. If you have a video, you can put your video on YouTube, and leave the link in a comment or in your email.

Submit your story before MIDNIGHT PDT, Monday, March 24, 2008. I’ll put the story up on Supernatural Scoop, and the one that gets the most votes from the community will win Supernatural Season Two on DVD!
