Kripke: Weak Dollar Seals Ruby in Depths of Hell

Supernatural creator Eric Kripke delivered some bad news in an interview with TV Guide. Despite great admiration for Katie Cassidy, and a desire to bring her back in Season 4, the slumping value of the U.S. dollar has made it impossible to bring Ruby back from Hell.
Kripke said that Katie was great for the show. Despite this, and despite having the same budget as last year, producing the show in Canada where the U.S. Dollar is weak means making some hard decisions.

This season, we’ve heard growing concerns over The CW’s viability. This week, after the networks official presentation on its third season offerings, The Wall Street Journal published a story about the network’s ability to stay afloat.
