Check out this interview, actually done earlier this month, but posted All Hallow’s Eve Eve Morning, or something like that. Kate O’Hara, of Zap2It talked to Erik Kripke, creator of Supernatural, and to Tara Butters, one of the writers and creators of Reaper.

Erik Kripke talks about the November 1 episode of Supernatural, “Bedtime Stories”, where the boys are up against a series of Grimm’s Fairy Tales gone postal.

From the interview:

• He can’t wait until they can do an episode ON Halloween. [That won't be until Season 9, unless The Cw gets crazy with the schedule night switching, ala The WB and Angel. Sorry, Erik.]
• Kripke compares –sensibly- The Brothers Grimm with The Brothers Winchester.
• Bedtime Stories explores the Schwarzwald stories’ origins, before they were sanitized for 20th century, American Disney audiences. That’s when they ended in bloodbaths, cannibalism, and insensitive sexual issues.
• Mention, again, of Jared Padalecki’s girlfriend, Sandra McCoy, as the Crossroads demon.
• According to Kripke, anyone who thinks there’s some kind of unfair pseudo-nepotism going on, they can keep quiet, because “she was the best read”, when they cast the Crossroads demon.
• Two words: Spock Ears

Tara Butters, in week 37 of her pregnancy, at the time talks about doing tonight’s episode “Leon”, and how fun it is to do a Halloween episode.

From the interview:

• She has her feet up.
• She’s hoping the baby comes before Halloween.
• Ray Wise gets to explore The Devil’s melancholy [This is when he needs sympathy, Mick.]
• She talks about avoiding doing what’s already been done.
• She speaks fondly of Buffy Halloween episodes, particularly, Season Two, when they turned into their costumes. [The fragility of Buffy-as-her-costume was really kind of hard for me to watch (read: annoying).]
• Spike, though the dog actor’s real name, was definitely still a nod to Buffy’s Spike.
