Mercedes McNab In New Movie “Dark Reel”

Mercedes McNab –Buffy veteran, and erstwhile Supernatural vampire- appears as Tara Leslie in the upcoming film Dark Reel. The film is a supernatural thriller, based on the real-life 1958 murder of actress Scarlett May.

In Dark Reel, a B-movie fan wins a walk-on role in a new horror film. When filming begins, though, the murder of one of the actresses, the investigation, the knowledge that a murderer is on the loose, and the film’s new notoriety, cause a real stir for the cast and crew.

The film stars Tiffany Shepis, Tony Todd, Edward Furlong and Lance Henriksen. No release date has been announced, yet.

Supernatural Season 3 DVD to Include Digital Video and Loads of Other Extras

This week, Warner Brothers Television announced the September 3 release date for Supernatural Season Three on DVD. Many connoisseurs of TV on DVD live for great bonus features. The more, the better. The bigger, the better. The more unique, the better. Within a couple of days the release date announcement, they began talking about the extras.

You’ll be glad to hear that, according to Warner Brothers Television, the bonus features on the upcoming DVD box set of Supernatural Season Three on DVD will be extraordinary. Chief among the features will be a digital copy of every episode. This is great news for you iPod, Archos, or other digital video player! It will make it simple to load to your player.

Favorite Strong Female Character on Supernatural Season 3

Who was your favorite Season 3 new female character? There were three big, strong-willed characters, Ruby, Bela, and Lilith. They were snotty, they got pissed off, and they gave the Winchester boys a really hard time.

Supernatural Spoiler Tease from Ausiello

Ausiello, today, gave a little spoilage, in answer to a question. It’s a bit of a tease, but he does let out that something they asked will happen. See the dark, tease, spoilage after the jump…

When asked about the following four things, Ausiello said two of them are correct:

Will Dean die?
Will Dean go to Hell?
Will Sam turn dark?
Will Sam fight against Dean?

Ellen Harvelle Not Likely Back on Supernatural This Season

Despite spoilers to the contrary (see Sera Gamble interview), Samantha Ferris’ blog reports that Ellen Harvelle will not likely return, this season. Apparently, the offer that the producers gave her could “cost her money and work”. I can only speculate that she means that the time that they would need her, for just a few minutes, in one episode would have paid her considerably less than the work she could do in the time that the shooting would keep her away from other work. I imagine having to travel to Vancouver to shoot a few minutes of footage would be hard for most people. She must have other things going on.

She speculates that the word will be out, tomorrow (Friday, 7 March), so it’s not a done “no-deal”, yet. But it doesn’t look good.

I’m disappointed. She’s a strong character that fits well in the Supernatural universe. It’s too bad they couldn’t have used her more, this season.

Supernatural News: CW Orders 4-5 More Episodes

The CW has confirmed that the network will air four to five new episodes of Supernatural, this season, in addition to the two new episodes that will air this week and next.

Eric Kripke, as late as last week, said that they were considering whether to air new episodes in April/May, or to hold them for the summer, or even until next Autumn. We fans, though, are dying to see what happens next!

As for other CW shows:

Everybody Hates Chris: Can finish out the season but its future – and the futures of most of the CW’s comedies – are still being determined.

Gossip Girl: Will film five or six episodes to air in the spring.

Life Is Wild: No more new episodes will air.

One Tree Hill: Six new episodes already completed. They will make five or six more new episodes for April and May.

Reaper: Three new completed episodes will air, beginning the last week of February. Five or six new episodes will be filmed.

Smallville: Still has four episodes in the can and plans to make five or six more.

Supernatural Creator Eric Kripke Talks to TV.com

Eric Kripke talked to our friend Tim Surette, at TV.com, last week, and spilled a little more about the last four completed episodes.

From the interview:

That delightful maggot-filled fast food scene from last week’s Malleus Maleficarum episode. [Hamburger, he says, but it sure looked like a wrap to me. I'll have to watch again.]
Kripke admits that all the upcoming episodes are big.
The significance of the demon mythology revealed in Malleus Maleficarum
Dream a Little Dream of Me as an homage to Dreamscape.
The Groundhog Day look at Mystery Spot.
Kripke’s very strong feelings about [probably] ending Season 3 with Jus in Bello.
How many episodes are left, maybe, and how many would it really take to complete the current story?
