Supernatural Season Four Spoilers in a Post-Comic-Con World

When Eric Kripke appeared with Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki at Comic-Con, fans sat on the edges of their seats. Kripke, though, was his usual cryptic self, leaking more teasers than wholesome spoilers for Season Four.
One nice touch for X-Files fans, Mitch Pileggi will show up as Mary Winchester’s father. Of course, it would be an interesting coincidence if Sam and Dean showed up to a mystery and meet Mulder and Scully. In a universe that holds both duos, it would almost need to happen, and they would be a lot more helpful than Bela ever was.

Supernatural creator, and all around cool guy, Eric Kripke, spoke to TV Guide, and appears in this week’s issue of the magazine. He talks a lot about setting up Supernatural fandom’s Summer of Angst, and a little on what his plans are for Dean’s new direction.
He confirms a lot of rumors and fills in a lot of spoilage for the curious:

Dean will stay in Hell for six months, in human time. In Hell time, it could amount to years.
Dean needed to go to Hell. He needed a “turning point”.

According to Matt Mitovich, over at TV Guide, Eric Kripke says Dean will rest in Hell for quite some time. As a result, his bond with Sam will be “massively affected”.
This is a vague enough spoiler to make you Dean lovers sweat along with him. Do the three to four months over the summer count? Do we have to wait for Dean to come back, even after we waited for the first episode of Season 4? Either way, we have to wonder what Dean will be like, when he finally gets back.
