Eric Kripke, as late as last week, said that they were considering whether to air new episodes in April/May, or to hold them for the summer, or even until next Autumn. We fans, though, are dying to see what happens next!

As for other CW shows:

Everybody Hates Chris: Can finish out the season but its future – and the futures of most of the CW’s comedies – are still being determined.

Gossip Girl: Will film five or six episodes to air in the spring.

Life Is Wild: No more new episodes will air.

One Tree Hill: Six new episodes already completed. They will make five or six more new episodes for April and May.

Reaper: Three new completed episodes will air, beginning the last week of February. Five or six new episodes will be filmed.

Smallville: Still has four episodes in the can and plans to make five or six more.

If the networks and studios don’t work something out with the WGA –perhaps, even if they do- Thursday, January 17 could be the last episode for Supernatural Season Three.

Let’s hope for some reason, soon. There’s not a lot of time to complete the writing, and the production of even a couple more episodes of any of our favorite hour-long evening scripted television shows. If things don’t turn around soon, all the good ideas are going into Supernatural Season Four.

So, call your network exec friends, and tell them to follow David Letterman’s lead.

Of course, as it is, the Supernatural Season Three DVD Set might not be as expensive, as other seasons. Sigh.

From the conversation, Mr. Kripke is happy about the talks starting Monday, and is hopeful for getting started again, soon after the beginning of the year. As things stand, the talks will need to go well, during the next two weeks.

Here’s hoping for great talks, and a resolution that is fair for the writers.

Kripke talks about Mary Winchester’s background, not going where the Wendigo went, the YED (Yellow Eyed Demon), and the world of demon hunters that the boys meet. My favorite piece is on Bobby, a character that I’m glad they’re developing this season:

In Episode 10 of this season, Bobby will fall into a mysterious and seemingly incurable coma, and Sam and Dean will investigate in order to save their good friend… only to realize that a killer is attacking his victims inside of dreams, and the killer is somewhere in Bobby’s head. So Sam and Dean will eventually enter Bobby’s dreams, and they’ll learn a couple of surprising things about him, including how he was initiated into hunting in the first place.
