Check out this creepy sneak peak, that Eric Kripke and the fine people at The CW gave exclusively at Watch with Kristin!

I can’t wait. My VCR is almost as tingly as Kristin claims her DVR is. It doesn’t help that this is probably the last four episodes of Season 3. If the strike ends in the next couple of minutes, we might see a couple more episodes in April/May. The storylines, however, would lead us into what’s to come for Season 4, rather than tie up the story arc of the current season.

Think you have what it takes to work in television? Think you know your favorite show better than anyone else? Now’s your chance to prove it.

The CW is offering students the shot at a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: to create a non-traditional trailer for The CW and have it air on TV and CWTV.com.

“Making the Cut ” is challenging you to create a promo that could jumpstart your creative career by winning an internship at The CW Television Network. Did we mention your spot could air on TV? That’s right— your trailer airing on one of the biggest television networks on the planet. Does it get any better than that?

With today’s ever-changing media outlets, viewers are seeking out compelling and original content. The traditional way of promoting a television show is changing. Viewers and fans have an overwhelming passion for their favorite programs, and are generating their own trailers, commercials, video blogs, and personal content. This is where you come in!

The creative objective of this competition (and don’t forget this is a competition) is to put together a piece of non-traditional promotion that captures the essence of one of the following shows:

Each spot should feature only one show, but you can enter as many spots for as many shows as you’d like. Now, even though we’ve provided this program footage, you are encouraged to use your imagination. Feel free to use other visual tools and resources. Think outside the box, incorporate your own material, and use your own creative voice.

You can create a short spot, a trailer, a video blog, or a video postcard. Maybe you’re a graphic designer and want to build an original look. Maybe you love photography and you’d like to convey your story through images. Maybe you’re in a band and want to write a song that supports your piece.

Shoot something, record something, design something. It’s really up to you. The only condition is that the piece should be no longer than :90 seconds. Other than that, the sky is the limit! Just be original and have fun!

This year you will be able to upload your work online in one of the following formats:

Quick Time Movie File Extension (*.mov)

Windows Media Video (*.wmv)
MPEG (Moving Pictures Expert Group) (*.mpg, *.mpeg)

Please use the following naming convention for the file name:

FirstName_LastName.extension (John_Doe.mov)

The work can be submitted in 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio.

Based on the novel by Cecelia Ahern, the movie stars Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler. Holly (Swank) and Gerry (Butler) fall in love, and marry, but are separated by Gerry’s untimely illness and death. The movie centers on a series of ten letters that Gerry arranged to be sent to her, each containing a task, and, of course, the post script “P.S. I love you.”

According to IMDB, Jeffrey Dean Morgan learned guitar from Nancy Wilson –of Heart, kids- for his part in the movie.

Crysnic pieced this together from some borrowed footage. WARNING: less than subtle chick flick content!

So, how many of you plan to see this one? I will, if Krysta will see it with me. She carries my tissue for me, but she’s yet to watch “Joy Luck Club” with me.
