She talks freely about being on strike, and having the chance to write without staying in the bounds of wide marketability.

Gamble also spills some spoilers for the rest of the season, as well as her thoughts on the potential for Season Four. That nagging question about Ruby and Bela, and the fans’ strong feelings about them. There’s even talk about an old semi-hunter friend showing up again, as well as a brand new hunter who shows up toward the end of this season. [I'll spoil a bit more after the break, if you're not squeamish about that.]

Girls, I’ve had loads of questions and comments about those “delicious tattoos”. Well, Ms. Gamble spills about those, too.

Episode 3.14

In the next episode, they steer clear –more or less- of the mythology introduced in Jus in Bello. It’s a bit of emotional relief –comic maybe- involving the Hellhound’s Lair boys from Season One episode Hell House. They show up doing a pilot for a cable show called Ghostfacers, so you can imagine the pseudo-documentary mayhem that will ensue. Sera Gamble says it will be “an entertaining episode.” Plus, it gives us –and them- a little emotional break before it gets too close to the big day for Dean, as his year comes to a close.

Miss Gamble also explains the crazy writing credits for Dream A Little Dream of Me, in that Cathryn Humphris completed the story that Sera Gamble began. Eric Kripke pulled her in to the writing of Jus in Bello.

Also appearing in Sera Gamble’s spoilage:

Lilith

Agent Henriksen

The Tattoos! I know, already mentioned, but everyone keeps asking.

Ellen Harvells returns in the season finale!

New hunter, who, at this point, is a “paranoid survivalist type”.

So, check out exactly what she says at Interview: Sera Gamble.

Post from: Supernatural Scoop

Supernatural, Other CW Shows Announce Likely Return Dates

CW

Supernatural News

Television

episodes

new-episodes

strike

supernatural

wga

writers-strike

The youth-oriented network may stay in flux, but The CW has announced planned return dates and episode counts for its series. We all knew this was coming. The CW had just issued its plans for the rest of 2008, and the industry seemed to have already breathed a giant corporate sigh of relief. The governing board for the Writers’ Guild of America had unanimously approved the agreement on Sunday.

While everyone is going back to work, today, there is still one last piece to fall into place. The union must still ratify the contract. This should happen any day now. Currently, though, most industry members and watchers are just happy the strike is over. I’m certain writers, and the many other entertainment workers, and all their families, are elated. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers estimated that writers had lost around $285 million dollars (US) worth of pay, during the strike. Other workers had lost over $500 million dollars in wages.

Notable in the agreement reached, last week, is that the increase in the writers’ cut of digital distribution beyond that made in the recent Director’s Guild agreement. These agreements certainly pave the way for smoother talks between producers and the Actors’ Guilds, whose contracts end June 30, 2008.

Post from: Supernatural Scoop

Supernatural News: CW Orders 4-5 More Episodes

CW

Supernatural News

Support Supernatural

cw-shows

episodes

gossip-girl

new-cw-shows

new-episodes

one-tree-hill

reaper

season-3

season-three

smallville

supernatural

the-cw

writers-strike

The CW has confirmed that the network will air four to five new episodes of Supernatural, this season, in addition to the two new episodes that will air this week and next. This leads to similar rate patterns for subsequent agreements.

That said, let’s hope this will be over soon. Movie and TV lovers, we, may have suffered a bit mentally. Imagine the issues faced by those whose tables were a bit harder to fill, as studios went dark. This includes various lesser known writers all the way to all manner of crew personnel.

Read more in the LA Times.

What do you think? As Supernatural is easily the network’s most under-promoted, under-appreciated, creative work, it would be difficult to argue otherwise.

At the end of February, Supernatural goes on hiatus, and Reaper –for which I also blog- takes its place on Thursdays, following Smallville. I know what they’re thinking. It’s the same thing they thought, when they moved Supernatural to the spot on Thursdays: following fellow genre-leader Smallville will introduce the show to the appropriate demographic, and increase viewership. Unfortunately, many former viewers lost track of the show, and don’t even realize it’s still on, and the numbers haven’t gone up in the way they’d hoped. That’s taking into account that Supernatural and Smallville are far more similar than either is to Reaper. So, my guess is that the gains for Reaper will not outdo those for Supernatural. Neither show, then will win.

Please take a look at the campaign, and consider adding your “signature”.

The Team Winchester campaign is at Repeat SUPERNATURAL at YouChoose.net.

You can also write, in your best professional tone, directly to:

Dawn Ostroff
President of Entertainment
CW Network
3300 West Olive Ave, 3rd Flr
Burbank, CA 91505

Can we change the CW’s course? Our beloved Supernatural has been in line for the chopping block, narrowly escaping peril, despite The CW’s unwillingness to promote its most overlooked gem. Fortunately, there are fans who appreciate the quality of the show enough to do their own promotion. We’re going to a new media template – downloads, streaming – I don’t really understand the technology, but what I understand is this, that broadcast television isn’t going to be the medium of the future, it’s just not the way it’s going to work. People will still go to movies, but it won’t be necessary in the way that it was.”

Read the article and find out what Ben Edlund and the others had to say.

Post from: Supernatural Scoop
